18w and thriving!

We had a 18w OB appointment yesterday with a ultrasound. We got another good look at our little man. He is doing perfect! His hearbeat was 133bpm and was moving around like crazy! He waved at us and we even caught him yawning at one point!

All his measurements were right on target and he is growing perfectly fine.

Here is a picture of our little man's profile from yesterday...

We have also decided on a name...........

Michael Alexander Purvis...

and we will call him Michael.

We can't wait to meet this little guy! Kaylee can already say brother and Michael so its going to be so much fun to see how she reacts to seeing him when he is born!
What a blessing from the Lord! Thank you all for your prayers and support!

We love you!

Props and a day at the park...

I forgot to give props to my wonderful husband in my last post for my anniversary/birthday gift.... When I came back home from New Orleans I was very surprised to find that my husband had performed a "room makeover" in our bedroom. I had been wanting to paint/decorate it but never got to it, so this was my gift/surprise and what a wonderful one it is!!! Thank you sweetie!!!

For my birthday weekend I wanted to go check out a local park called Hurricane Shoals Park not to far from my house. We spent the morning playing on the playground with kaylee, watching ducks in the river and finally allowing kaylee to get wet and dirty in the water that she kept wanting to jump in! Here are a few pictures from our wonderful morning/lunch at the park. It was a perfect way to celebrate my birthday!

Looking at the waterfall......

Playing on the tireswing

Kaylee loved the big slide!

No more baby swing for me mommy!!

Getting in the water

A big grin after falling in the water and getting dirty.

I want to thank my entire family for a wonderful birthday celebration, for all their love and support that they continually give me.

I love you all!!

What a wonderful weekend!!!!

This weekend was very exciting around our household. First of all, it was mine and Chris's 6 yr wedding anniversary. Which we celebrated with a nice dinner out to Pano's and Paul's in Alpharetta followed by a concert with the Atlanta Symphony with Julie Andrews. It was SO amazing. We had a wonderful evening together and its been an amazing 6 yrs together!

Here is a picture of us heading out to dinner....

This weekend was also exciting for Kaylee... as she got a big girl room! We went to walmart earlier this week and let her pick out all the princess stuff for her room.. she was so excited!

So while she was staying at Mimi's and Papa's this weekend, mommy and daddy re-did Kaylee's room and turned it into a ALL Princess big-girl room complete with a big girl bed and everything. So far tonight, she layed down for bed at 8pm and its currently 9:15 and she is still sitting in her bed reading books. She doesn't want to go to sleep, but she is being very good, getting a book, climbing in bed to read it. We shall see how she sleeps her first night in her big girl bed.

When she came home tonight she was so excited and loved it! Here are a few pictures and a video of her when she first saw her room.

New orleans, Babies and life updates....

Its been a little over a week since my last post. Sorry! Things have been really busy since I've returned from New orleans, so we'll start there.

New Orleans was not quite what I expected, or prepared for. It just isn't my kind of town. I did get a little bit of down time for myself to rest, and that was nice. But I was very happy to retun home to my hubby and baby girl.

Earlier this week we went to my OB for a 14w check up, and while we were there we asked if we could "peak' and see what we were having... my Ob is so wonderful, and he was more than willing! SO.... we took a look and didn't have to look hard.....

We are having............... A BOY!!!!

We were so thrilled to see our little guy is doing great and growing right on track. The dr was 100% sure its a boy and we were more than pleased. Daddy is so proud.
I go back in 2 weeks for more blood work and then at the end of August for the 18w anatomy scan and double check on the sex. So, I guess we will have to get busy finding some 'boy' things for our house cause it is ALL girl!!

This week was also eventful for my work, as my boss retired Thursday. It was a sad, sad day, but I know that he is going to enjoy his much needed retirement. But he will be greatly missed.

Kaylee is still growing and constantly amazing us with her new words and songs. Here are a few examples of what she has been saying lately.
On baby in my tummy....
Me: "What does mommy have in her belly?"
Kaylee: "mommy have babies?"
Me: "how many babies?"
Kaylee: "one, two, three, five, seven, eight .. eight babies mommy!!"
On her baby brother...
Me: "Kaylee gonna be a big sister!"
Kaylee:"Big sistar?"
Me: " your gonna have a baby brothers"
Kaylee: " I like baby broder mommy"

What a crazy week!

Well, its mid-week and boy has this week been really nuts!
My poor hubby has been working lots of overtime since sunday so i haven't seen much of him lately. And Sunday night I came down with a very sore throat, by Tuesday, I was miserable so I called my OB. I went in and come to find out I had strep throat and an ear infection!! WOW I so wasn't expecting that!
So I've been put on antibiotics and rest for a few days, however Chris has yet to get a break!

Potty training is still.... very much a work in progress. Kaylee has lost the 'new' excitment she had, but she has gone a few more times on the potty, but with me being sick this week, I haven't had the energy to really work on it at all with her.

Kaylee has gotten very smart and vocal lately. She amazes me at the things she says these days. Its so amazing to see her grown up and learn new things. I can't wait to see what her little brother or sister will be like, much less what they will be like together!!

I leave Saturday for a trip to New Orleans with work. I'm going alone, which is a mixture of feelings. I've only been away from Kaylee and Chris for 3-4 days once before on my cruise back in Sept.07. But this will be the first time I am flying all alone, chris has always flown with me... so this will be a new experience for me. I am sorta looking forward to a little 'me' time, but I don't really know what to expect in New Orleans. I'll post all about it when I return.

Our New adventure!!! Potty Training!

Well, for the last few months we've been reading books about "the potty" and Kaylee's interest has finally peaked to where last night at Walmart she insisted on buying a potty, so we did.
When we got home she could hardly wait to sit on her potty. She loves the thing and wants to sit on it constantly!!
Last night she went peepee in the potty for the first time and I had to do the silly happy mommy dance. It was an amazing experience! Then this morning she wanted to sit on the potty again, and went 2x before school. She is so excited about it, its hard to get her to eat, sleep, play or anything except sit on the potty.

So this weekend we are going to have lots of fun with kaylee learning to use the potty! I'm so excited about this new adventure we are going through. We are really excited that she's excited because hopefully that will make it easier. I know we have a long road ahead, but so far we are off to a good start.... and we'll see what this weekend holds!
I'll try to post pictures of kaylee and her potty soon.

Family Vacation to Edisto Island

We returned Sunday from our trip to Edisto Island last week. We had such a wonderful time. Edisto is very quiet and remote, there isn't alot to there, infact there is no hotels or chain resturants at all. Everything there is locally owned and it is a wonderful atmosphere! We really love it there. The beaches aren't crowded and everyone is friendly. Kaylee loved the beach! ALthough this was her second trip, it was the first one she could really enjoy. She loved the ocean and waves. She would run in and out of them and sit and splash in them as they came up on shore. She also loved to dig and play in the sand. She didn't try to eat it this year though!

We mostly spent the days at the beach or pool and took afternoon naps and ate alot of fresh caught seafood!

Here are a few pictures from our trip- we hope you enjoy!
