Our day at the Aquarium

After a busy week we decided to spend the day relaxing as a family and went to the Ga aquarium for the afternoon. Chris and I had been before but this was our first time taking Kaylee. From the first moment we walked in she couldn't say anything except "whoooaa!!" as we walked around every corner she just kept saying "Whoooa!!!". She loved looking at all the different kinds of fish. She especially liked the bigger fish and turtles. The big coral reef tank was the first big tank we saw and she loved looking at all the bright colored fishes.

It was so much fun for us to watch her reactions to fish swiming by. She couldn't take her eyes off of them! She wanted to follow them and needless to say we spent alot of time chaseing Kaylee as she chased the fish around the tanks saying "Fishies! Fishes!". It was a wonderful afternoon watching the fishes and watching Kaylee have so much fun discovering new things for the first time. One of the most exciting thing for me as a parent is re-visiting things for the first time through Kaylee's eyes. I love showing her new things and seeing her reactions. It is my favorite part of being a mommy (besides hearing her say mommy :)).
It was truly a wonderful day!!

Here are some more pictures from our visit.

16 months

This week holds lots of milestones for me. 2 years ago this week I found out I was pregnant with Kaylee, and today my sweet little Kaylee turns 16 months old! Time sure flies by!

It amazes me how fast she is growing and learning new things. Last night we working on naming body parts, she now can point to head, belly, nose and ear... and last night we started working on toes. It is amazing how fast she learns a new concept and can do it on her own!

This time last year Kaylee was 4 months old and her newest thing was rolling over and scooting, and today she is learning her body parts and new words! It is so amazing how fast they grow up.

here is a picture of Kaylee last year at 4 months

and here is Kaylee at 16months

It is so amazing how fast my little girl is growing up- and to think that 2 years ago, she was just being formed in my belly! God is truly amazing and has blessed us so much!!

Just getting started

So many friends of mine have blogs (my friend Amber has been a big inspiration to me here...), but I've never really been brave enough to look into starting my own.. till now. So, I'm taking the jump and joining the 'blogging' bandwagon.

I hope you enjoy following my family blog through the days and weeks of our lives at the Purvis household. I hope to use this as a method of keeping in touch with our friends and families near and far.

Hope you enjoy and check back often!
