MMM. . MMM. . Good!

Over the weekend Michael had his first solids! I have to admit that I've been holding off as long as I could because I want him to stay my little baby as long as possible, however, he has been eyeing our food A LOT while sitting in his highchair for the last few weeks so we finally decided to try some Rice cereal. To say that he enjoyed it would be an understatement! He LOVED it! While Kaylee was never that interested in Rice cereal, Michael seems to love anything that comes near his mouth these days! I have a feeling that this boy will eat me out of house and home over the next few years!!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!!

Last weekend my sister and I headed out for our annual "sister's trip". We have been doing these for the past 5 years and it is something I really look forward to every year. We go different places each year and just spend time being girls, sisters and friends. This year was unique cause it was the first year we were both "mommies" and the first time we had both been away overnight from our new babes.
Because we both have small babes at home, and to save a little dough, we opted to go to Atlanta this year instead of the beach or some other far away place. My sister had never been to the Georgia Aquarium and since I have annual passes, we went there, enjoyed the aquarium and also visited the Titanic Exhibit as well. Although I've been countless times to the GA Aquarium this year, I had not been to the Titanic exhibit, and it was very cool.

Later that afternoon we checked into our hotel and spent 3 hours- yes 3 hours getting ready. Something we could NEVER do with our children- but we did our nails, gave each other facials, talked, laughed and had lots of fun getting ready to go out to "The Cheesecake Factory"!!

After our scrumptious dinner and dessert we had a exciting trip to ...... the SUPER TARGET! yes, there is NO super target here locally so we had to stop! it was so much fun we had to take a few pictures to remember the occasion. We were probably the best dressed gals in there!

I think the favorite part of our trip however was sleeping till 9am on Sunday morning. We haven't done that in MONTHS... well, for me YEARS.. so we greatly enjoyed it. We got up, had a wonderful breakfast in the hotel and went out for a bit more shopping before coming home.

Overall, it was a wonderful weekend we shared. I am so blessed to have a sister that I can say is my best friend, one whom I look forward to seeing as often as I can. I love our yearly trips and I can't wait till we start planning our next one!

Love ya sis- thanks for a great weekend!

Going, going GONE!

Okay, my *baby* is growing up TOO fast!
Michael is definitly starting to MOVE... ALOT.

He is now getting up on all fours and trying to move forward. He can move backwards very well and is just now starting to lunge forward! It is so cute and funny but at the same time a little sad for me... I just can't belive my *baby* is growing up so quickly! Michael will be 5 months old on Saturday.
Here are a few pictures I took this morning of Michael's new trick!

What a difference a year makes!

Wow. Its so hard for me to believe that one year ago our lives were just begining to take drastic changes! We had just moved into our current house, just found out I was expecting again (little Michael!), my boss had just retired from my old place of work and my little girl was 1.5 yrs old and still wearing diapers.
Fast forward to today- We are completly lovin our new home, still making it 'ours' and loving every moment of it!, Michael is 4.5 months old and brings so much joy to our home and My little girl has just completed her first week wearing big girl undies and now I'm a stay home mom, part time college professor! Wow how things change!
We are so blessed and it is still sometimes so hard to believe how much things have changed in just a year but it has been such an amazing year!

PT update- Day 3

Well, we are on day 3 of big girl undies for Kaylee and I must say- it was very rough in the begining but I think she is finally getting it.
We have been accident free since yesterday at 3pm and she was even dry this morning when she woke up! I'm so excited. I am so proud of the progress she's made in only 3 days... and I can't believe that my 'little' girl is so big!
This morning she even told me-
"No more diapers mommie!" As I took off her nightime pull up (I am not doing underwear over night yet!). She loves picking out her undies in the morning and she is even starting to just run to the potty on her own! I have such a smart big girl!!!
stay tuned for more updates to come!!

Trying new things...........

This week has so far been full of trying new things!

For one- Kaylee is in big girl undies. we have tried pull ups for quite a while now with little success so we have decided to go to big girl undies during the day and only pull ups at nap/bedtime. So far, we had 5 accidents yesterday but she is getting the hang of it. Hopefully we will have a potty trained little girl soon!!

Michael is also trying new things! This is how I found him after making the beds Sunday morning......He was on the mat when I left the room.

and last night he did this for the first time on his own! He actually stayed that way for a few mintues before falling over.

Just too cute!

Kaylee has started saying and doing the cutest things lately!
We've started trying to get her to add more to her prayers than "Thank you for this food amen!"

Today at lunch she said the following...
" Thank you for this food, and for the cymbals at the library and for my friends and for music and for our family and friends- amen!"

Then when I put her down for a nap, before I closed the door she said "Thank you for dinner mommy". **my heart melted**

On other news, Kaylee is starting up on potty training again. i've been re-introducing it this week after our 'break' for the last 2 months. She is doing very well this week- telling me when she needs to go and she's even gone poopie in the potty this week! Next Monday I will take away pull ups and do big girl undies and rubber pants so I hope that she continues to 'get it' and that she does well next week- say a prayer for her and ME! Ha ha

stay tuned. . .
