It was one of those mommy moments!!

Well, for those of you who read frequently you've probably noticed that I stopped posting about our 'potty training' adventure. That's because its been on hold for the last few months and we haven't made much progress... hopefully we'll get closer to being trained soon though.

Anyways- on to today's story!
Today Kaylee had her usual check up at the dentist. We got all loaded up in the car... 2 kids, 2 bags and the stroller. We were all set and even EARLY to the appointment- I was so proud!
We get our name called and I round up the kids up and get Kaylee headed back to the 'town village chairs' (our dentist is set up like a little town).. and one of the dentist techs tell me... 'um I think she needs a change'... I look down and sure enough her pants are 'oozing'... yep.. 'oozing'. she had pooped in her pants and it was everywhere! I rush her off to the bathroom to assess the damage and it was B-A-D! her pull ups were full, it was all over her pants, socks, legs everywhere!! It was so embarrassing. The techs were so nice, bringing me a bag for all the 'trash' and her wet clothes. . After I get her cleaned up, I step out to tell them that she has nothing on but a shirt and pull up- her pants are ruined and I didn't pack a back up pair... they were so nice- they said- "wont bother us if it doesn't bother you... we've had this happen several times with potty training kids!"... so out walks my cute little girl with nothing but her shirt and pull up :)

Kaylee did great at the dentist- and her teeth are great! She was such a big girl!! (This is her 3rd time and they do a little more each time.. this time they even flossed!!)

Sooooo when it came time to leave, I put her shoes back on ( no socks remember) and we walk back out to the car, her on one hand and pushing the stroller with the other. It was quite a site! Several of the men in the parking lot doing construction just stared at us!!
It was one of those moments where I didn't know if I should laugh or cry... so I laughed!! All the way home I just laughed as I looked back at my little girl strapped in her car seat with nothing but her shirt, pull ups and shoes on happy as she could be holding her balloons.

It was quite a day!

An exciting week!

Well this is the start of my second full week being home alone with the two kids. Last week was a bit chaotic at times, but I must admit I'm pretty darn proud of myself for making it through with no battle scars or yelling at the kids :) ( Although I can't say I made it through without a few tears....).

Here are a few humourous things I learned from this past week:

  • Sometime Pjs do count as 'clothing'
  • Just when you get one child's bottom cleaned, the other one is sure to need changing
  • Once everyone is dressed and you 'think' your ready to get out the door.... it still takes at least 30 mintues to get IN the car!
  • Mickey Mouse clubhouse grows on you after 100+ shows!
  • 2 yr olds and baby powder don't mix!--- if you want a laugh ask for the whole story!
  • I love sleeping past 6am when my kids let me!! What a perk!
  • Kaylee loves "art"! We made bracelets or 'beads' as she calls them- see pictures below

We had several firsts this past week- I took both kids out in public all by myself 2 times this week and survived!!

Wednesday's at our local library they have a GREAT 1 hr program of music and storytime for 2-4 yr olds and Kaylee loves it. We've been for the last 2 weeks, but this week was the first time I had to take both kids.... but of course Michael slept through the whole thing.

Friday, we all went to http://www.imaginationsatplay.com/ with my mom's group and it was alot of fun! I highly recommend this for kids under 8! Here are a few pictures from our trip there.

Also on Friday Michael turned one month old! I can't believe it! Where is the time going? He is changing so quickly and growing at a much faster rate than I remember Kaylee growing. Here are some pictures I took at one month!

I can't believe he has already been here for a month, although I must admit that sometimes it is hard to remember our life before we were a family of 4!

A whole lotta lovin going on....

This week Chris returned to work, and I greatly missed him being home with us all day. My mother in law came to help out a few days this week ( Thank you!) and by Friday I think I had gotten into a good routine around the house. Next week I'll be all on my own so we'll see how that goes! I sure am enjoying being home with the kids though, its so much fun to spend all this time with Kaylee, but its alot of work too :)

Here's nana and the 'grandkids'

Kaylee had a valentines party with my local mom's group Friday and it was alot of fun. Kaylee had a blast and got to meet and make some new little friends. here are a few pictures from the party as well as a few from this week.

A Special Outfit

At Christmas Chris's mom gave him the outfit he came home from the hospital in along with a picture of his Nani holding him wearing that outfit. It was a special gift and along with the gift a request was made for Michael to wear the outfit and have a picture made with his 'nana'....

So... here is that picture.

When Chris went home wearing the outfit he was 6lbs 13oz...

Michael weighs over 8lbs 7oz (his last weight check at 1 week of age)...
and lets just say that if we had waited any longer to put him in it, he would not have fit in the outfit!

A week of Firsts.........

Michael had his first bath last week- and unlike Kaylee, he didn't mind the water that much. Big sister Kaylee had to watch and 'help'. It was so cute.

I just wanted to share a few pictures of Michael- he is growing so fast! I can't wait to see how big he is at his one month appointment in a little more than a week. Its so hard to belive that he is going to be 3 weeks old on Tuesday... he is growing so fast!

I have really enjoyed sharing more time with my kids these last few weeks- and I've also REALLY enjoyed having Chris home these two weeks too. Its been so wonderful to spend this time together as our new family of four.

This weekend has been so wonderful! The weather has been so nice and its been so great to just hang out as a family outdoors.
