ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Last night after all the kids were in bed, Chris and I were watching Hell's Kitchen on TV when all the sudden I hear a funny noise coming from the monitor...... I didn't think it was Michael crying but it was just strange.. so I went in to check it out-

Here is what I found......... There isn't alot to 'see' in the movie cause it was dark in his room but it is soo funny!! (HINT Make sure you turn your volume WAY up!!)

Yes- that was Michael snoring!! SO funny!!!

On another note- that was about all the sleep Michael (and us!) got last night- His SECOND tooth came through this morning! I can't believe my baby has 2 teeth already!! I will try to get a good picture of them to post soon!

The Lazy Days seem to be returning!!!

Well, its been 3 weeks since the "bee incident" and we are finally starting to make progress with Kaylee and her being outside fear. We've made a 'bug book' of pages Kaylee has colored with different insects that are 'scary or not scary'. She likes knowing what bug is outside when she sees it and knowing if its scary or not.
Today, we spent almost 2 hours total througout the day outside playing, blowing bubbles, playing "catch" and ridding her 'bike' down the driveway. It is so nice to be back outside! Kaylee is also starting to understand she is okay even when bugs are around. I was so proud of her today, there was a BEE flying around us and I shooed it away and she just stood still then said "thanks mommy!". No melt down, no freak out- it was so nice!
With 3 weeks left till I start back to teaching 2 nights a week, I am looking forward to spending most of our remaining 'summer' days outside and in the pool as much as we can! Thanks to everyone for your prayers, advice and helpful tips during these last few weeks with Kaylee.

Michael is 6 months!!!

Time definitly flies when your having fun- and to say that I've had fun being a SAHM for the last 6 months is an understatment!!

He goes for his 6 month Check up August 4th so I'll update then on his stats health wise but here is what he is up to these days.

Michael can.....
  • Crawl anywhere he wants!!!
  • Pull up to stand
  • eat home made baby food- so far he's tried.... green beans, carrots, apple sauce, bananas, peas (not his favorite though!)
  • laugh and smile to melt your heart
  • hold his own bottle

I took some photos of Michael the other day and have edited them FINALLY for his '6month' shots! ENJOY!

The NOT so lazy days of summer..........

They are called the lazy days of summer. . but for a mom- they are NOT so lazy! Ever since Kaylee had her run in with the yellow jackets, our time outdoors has become limited, and it has been a challenge for me. I honestly saw the summer spending every morning playing and every afternoon swimming outside. But instead, we are inside- 90% of the day. THis makes it so much more challengeing to keep Kaylee doing something active- instead of just watching cartoons all day.
Most of our time now is spent watching Michael crawl, or laugh or something. Kaylee adores him, and he does a good job helping me keep her entertained. I've also started trying to teach Kaylee to recognize her ABC's. We do puzzles, playdough, making necklaces out of beads, dance, play with all her toys, dress up, clean (yes she thinks this is fun too!), and of course, watch movies.

Kaylee is making progress, and we have gone outside a few times this week, but seeing that it takes me about 10-15 mintues to get everyone ready to go outside (shoes, hats, sunscreen..etc), and then after about 5 mintues of being out there she is crying to come back in. . . well, its kinda of frustrating.
I write all this to ask- what are some of your favorite 'indoor' activities?

An Update- Fireworks, teeth, Crawling, potty training and more

Sorry I've been so behind on updating. We have had a few busy weeks and I have been lazy on updating!

First of all, an update that is well over due on Kaylee's potty training... she IS potty trained! She has done amazing over the last few weeks and hasn't had an accident in almost 2 weeks! We are still using pull ups at night time but she is totally trained during the day. We are SO proud of her!

For Father's day we went to a Gwinnett Braves game. It was a first for the kids- and Kaylee really enjoyed watching the 'catching game' as she called it. This is the first season of the Gwinnett braves and I highly recommend your family visiting them! Great seats, reasonably priced and very family orriented! Here are a few pictures from our night at the baseball game!

Over the weekend, Kaylee had a run in with anest of yellow jackets (47 of them exactly!) but is doing MUCH better now. Thanks to everyone for your prayers for her recovery. She is still very afraid of 'flying' bugs right now but physically she is healed. Praise God!

Although it started out rough with the bee attack, we had a fabulous 4th of July holiday. We got to spend it with family and friends eatting good food and watching fireworks. Kaylee got to play putt-putt for the first time with MeMe and Papa up in Helen as we waited for the fireworks to begin. She had a GREAT time!

Michael is growing by leaps and bounds! He is now crawling- YES at 5 1/2 months! He is also cutting his first tooth, I can see it but not feel it yet. I can't believe my baby is growing up so fast! I think he is determined to break all of Kaylee's milestones! here are a few pictures of Michael recently. I can't belive he will be 6 months old in 12 days.

Well, I think that is about it. Its been an exciting last few weeks~ I will start back teaching evening classes at Gainesville State college in Watkinsville in a few weeks so I'm busy preparing for that as well right now, but I'll try to keep you all updated more!
