Sister's weekend getaway

Well, my sister and I went away last weekend as is our tradition one weekend every year. This year we went to S.C, and stayed in Beaufort which is a neat little town on the bay boardering several islands off the coast. We visited Edisto Island and Hunting Island while we were there. We also saw lots of cool landmarks and historical places. Most of all it was just fun to get away with my little sis for a few days and just be carefree girls!!!

Here are a few pictures from our exciting, relaxing and fun weekend...

Update... we're moving!

As some of you may know we put our house up for sale at the first of May, thinking we 'might' sell our house by the end of the summer. Not that we don't love our home that we've lived in for the last almost 6 years, but needless to say we need some more space (for all Kaylee's toys!! ha ha)
So, we put it up for sale on April 28th, and on May 4th, we had recieved an offer! It was made official on May 7th and we are set to close on our home May 30th! We are still in shock that it happened so quickly and easily (getting our asking price!!) but we know that it was God.
So, after this we quickly started looking for a new home. We wanted something with a basement and definitly with more room... after many hours house hunting online and a few days out visiting homes with our agent, we finally found a GREAT buy and a GREAT home with our basement. We put in a offer on Wednesday and it was accepted yesterday!! So, hopefully we will be moving to this new home shortly.
As for right now, we are just busy packing, making arrangments and getting everything lined up to hopefully close on both homes the same day... its a lot of work but it will be worth it in the end. No.... we aren't leaving Georgia, just moving across Jackson county so don't panic!!! This new home is off 441, just outside commerce.

Stay tuned for more updates!!!

Like mother, like daughter....

This coming weekend is Mother's day weekend, and as I look back over my last year being a mom, I can't help but to reflect back to memories of my mom from when I was a child. I always thought my mom was the coolest mom (okay, so excluding those teenage years maybe!) but for the most part my mom was so wonderful. She always had the funnest things for us to do, and although looking back now I know we didn't have as much as those kids around us, but I never knew the difference when I was growing up cause I never felt 'without'. I think that is mostly because of Love.. I was never without love.
I'm so gratful for my mother and all that she taught me and is still teaching me now that I am a mom. I don't know what kind of person, mother, wife or friend I'd be without my mom's influence!

So, here are a just a few pictures of me and my mom....

Me learning to walk- around 10m I think?

My first birthday....

Easter (probably late 1980's)

And here are some pics of me and my daughter- Kaylee who is now 1.5 yrs old!

Here's a pic of all three of us together... I can't wait to visit with my mom this weekend and remind her in person just how much I love her and how thankful I am to have her for a mommy!!! I fully believe now that you will never fully appreciate your mother until you become a mommy yourself and realize all that she did and sacrificed for you.

Happy Mother's Day!
