A Day at the Zoo

We had a fabulous trip to the Atlanta Zoo today with some friends from our mom's group. Kaylee and Maren had a blast hanging out and Michael actually stayed awake the entire trip- he loved seeing all the new things!

It was a beautiful day and Kaylee loved seeing all the animals. Here are a few of my favorite shots- check out my photo page for all the pictures!!

You never know what your gonna find...........

Bedtime has become quite interesting at our house. It seems that Kaylee goes through phases where she will go out like a light as soon as we shut the door, and other nights, its HOURS till she finally gives in and passes out (like tonight for example!)
However, it is always interesting to me to 'peek' in on her before I go to bed and see how she finally fell asleep. Sometimes she is across the bed, with her head at the foot and her feet at the head of the bed, sometimes she's laying across the body pillow and then other times, she is just like I left her all tucked in perfectly and unmoved. and then. . . there are times like last night.

Chris actually is the one who found her like this, but it was so priceless of course I HAD to take a picture before we could pick her up and put her in bed.

This is how we found Kaylee at 10:30 last night-

Priceless!!!
Yes- for those of you not familiar with her room layout- she is lying on the floor at the entrance of her room. She had pulled all her covers and pillow and dolls down on the floor- made a cot and covered up and went to sleep! When we moved her she didn't even wake it. We never heard up moving around in her room doing this- so it was quite a surprise when we walked in and saw this! But a cute one at that!!

Dedication Day

This past weekend was very special! On Sunday we dedicated Michael Alexander Purvis back to the Lord. It was a wonderful day full of family and friends. We are so grateful for Michael, and Kaylee... we couldn't imagine our lives with out our precious children. It is such a honor to be parents and to know that God entrusted us with them to raise.

We are grateful to all our family and friends who came out to celebrate with us, and for those who couldn't make it but celebrated with us in their hearts.
Here are a few pictures from Sunday- you can check out all of them. .. (and there are quite a few!) by clicking on the "photos' link on the side bar.

Hippity Hoppity Easter is on its way!

Well, the Easter bunny has hopped into town and the kids went to visit the Easter bunny today! Kaylee absolutly LOVES the Easter bunny. She saw him last week when I made a quick trip to return something in the mall and we had to do a quick visit, but today was a 'planned' visit and I dressed the kids in their matching bunny shirts ( I ordered them from here....http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5684336). Kaylee loved sitting in the Easter bunny's lap and I didn't think we were gonna get her to leave, it was so cute. Michael did great, was awake and didn't cry or anything while we were getting a picture of the kids.
It was so much fun, and I absolutly love this 'first' Easter pics of my kids!

Michael's Two months Old!

Well, Michael went for his 2 month check up today. Its so hard to believe that he is 2 months old !
Here are his current stats:
Birth weight: 8lbs 5oz
2 month weight: 13 lbs 2 oz

Birth Length: 20.5 inches
2 month length: 25 inches

He is growing so fast and constantly amazes me at his development. He is now starting to hold his head up more, look around at objects as well as try to hold onto objects. He is also smiling and cooing more these days too, its so much fun!!
here are a few pictures I took in the last week.

Big sister Kaylee is still loving her baby brother. She is so sweet and loving towards him, and its so awesome to see. I can't wait to see how they interact when he gets a little more 'mobile and active'!

Its finally OFFICIAL!

Well- I made it Official yesterday- I am a stay at home mommy!!
For those of you who might not know, I have decided to quit working full time at UGA and stay home with the kids during the day. I will continue to teach part time in the evenings at Gainesville State College in Oconee starting back this August. But until then- I'm just at SAHM!
It was a day filled with mixed emotions but a happy one too.

Time to play catch up!

I can't believe its been over a week since my last post but it was quite an eventful week last week! For one, we had over 6 inches of snow last Sunday/Monday and it was beautiful.

Here are a few pictures of our 'snow' days!

Last wednesday the kids, myself and Meme took a day trip to the GA Aquarium. It was a great day and Michael did so well on his first BIG outting! Kaylee and Meme had alot of fun as well! I'm so glad my mom got to go with us! Thanks mom!

Michael also transitioned to his big crib last week and out of the bassinet. He has been doing great and sleeps about 4-5 hours at a time now with only one mid-night feeding. He is doing so well in his nursery!

Something else funny happened on Thursday. I had given Kaylee some gummie bears as a snack and was cleaning the kitchen not paying alot of attention to her as she was eating them. A little while later I went to pick up Michael from his swing where he was sleeping, and this is what I saw..........

Kaylee decided to 'share' her gummie bear with baby brother. She was very honest about it and appolgized for doing it... and of course I had to take a picture before I started trying to carefully get the gummie out. Luickly I was able to remove it totally without Michael loosing any hair!

And finally- today I took Michael to the dr. for a cough... he has his first cold... but on a 'bigger' note... he now weighs in at 12lbs 15.5 oz!!! Here is a picture of my 'little' man today

So, it was quite an eventful week!! lots of fun, but very eventful! Today we spent 80% of our day outside enjoying the 80 degree weather! Who can believe last monday we were out playing in the snow?! Gotta love Georgia!
