Happy New Year!!

Well, its the final few hours before the end of 2008 and the begining of 2009. What a wonderful, blessed year we have had in 2008! I wanted to just take a few mintues to list a few things that 2008 brought us in the Purvis household....

  • I got a new car (well, new to me!) after being protected in a car accident that totaled my old one.
  • We sold our house in less than a week and were blessed with a very awesome new home in Commerce that we couldn't have imagined we'd ever afford!
  • I found out we were expecting again and having a baby boy in January 09'.
  • Chris and I celebrated our 6th year wedding anniversary
  • I was given the opportunity to start teaching biology at Gainesville state college which I love!
  • Chris and I discovered and started following the "dave ramsey plan" and it has blessed and changed our life!

God has answered and blessed our prayers far greater than we could have ever, ever imagined or deserved this year! We are so blessed and give Him all the praise this New Years for everything that 2008 brought us and all the 2009 promises to hold for us.

May you all have a Blessed 2009!

We're all ready!

Well, we are in the final 4 weeks of pregnancy and anxiously awaiting Michael's "BIG" arrival!! I was supposed to have a Dr. appt today but it got post-poned till Friday cause my Dr. was busy delivering LOTS of babies today. We are so excited about little Michael and can't wait to meet him! Big sister Kaylee is getting pretty excited too (or so it seems).
I'm so happy with how the nursery turned out and I want to say a big THANKS to my wonderful hubby for doing all the painting, hanging and arranging and to my mother in law for sewing the curtains for us. We can't wait for Michael to start enjoying his room as much as we've enjoyed preparing it for him!

What a wonderful Christmas!

Christmas holidays were absolutly fabulous around the Purvis household. Its so wonderful to re-live Christmas through your child's eyes. Kaylee was soo into christmas this year. She loved making cookies for Santa, visiting Santa, wrapping presents with us and leaving cookies and milk for Santa on Christmas eve.

We also enjoyed a new family tradition of having a 'birthday party for Jesus' on christmas day. it was really fun to read her the real Christmas story (in her own 'kid' books) and have a party for Jesus.

Christmas morning was sooo much fun, cause Kaylee was sooo excited to see her new toys from Santa and she even remembered to check to see if he ate his cookies (which he did!!). We really had a great time Christmas day playing with toys, hanging out in our Pj's and just having a great day! here are a few pictures from Christmas day, and if you want to see more, follow the link to our photo page.

Odds and Ends----

Well, its just a few more days till Christmas and things have been a little busy around the Purvis household.
To begin with- I had my 34wk ultrasound/OB appointment earlier this week, and little michael is doing very well! He weighs around 5lbs 7oz right now and is expected to be about the same size as Kaylee was (7lbs 10oz). He was very active, moving around and kicking mommy. We got a few good pictures of his face, and he is just adorable!

Kaylee is getting excited about "Santa" coming soon and also about us having a birthday party for baby Jesus on Christmas eve. Chris and I can't wait to see her reactions this Christmas... its gonna be so much fun!

Here are just a few random shots from the last week or so. I've also posted some new pictures on our Phanfare site, so check those out too- (link below).

Kaylee's visit to Santa....

Every year we take Kaylee to go see Santa, however she really hasn't understood 'Santa' untill this year. And although I know she doesn't understand realy about santa, she can recognize him in pictures or TV or christmas decor. So this year she was very excited to go 'find Santa' in the mall.

As soon as we walked up to Santa she was in awe of Santa being a real person. She wasn't scared at all, and in fact she jumped up in Santa's lap and just stared at him. Now, I must take a moment for those of you who don't know Kaylee that well... she isn't one to be shy or quiet (not sure where she gets that!), but she didn't speak a WORD to Santa, just sat there and stared, touching his beard and hat. . . it was so cute!

We kept trying to get her to smile or talk to Santa but she wouldn't. However, we did end up with a rather cute photo.

When we left she had to give Santa a hug and wave 'bye bye' to him. We walked around the mall some and she kept wanting to go walk back by Santa, which of course we did... and again she had to wave 'bye bye' to him. It was so cute.

Tonight, we rode around Commerce and Jefferson looking at everyone's Christmas lights. It was so much fun watching Kaylee get all excited when we would see a house all lit up with lights, even more so if they had a blown up Santa or snowman in their yard. It was a fun evening listening to Christmas songs and looking for lights.
Merry Christmas... HO HO HO!!!

Flips for Michael!

Well, I had my 32wk appt. this morning and recieved some great news!! Little Michael is finally head down! Sometime over the last two weeks ( I think it was over the last weekend) Michael flipped and is in the correct position!! Woohoo!! I am so thankful for everyone's prayers for us and little Michael to flip! Now I can breathe a little easier knowing he's not breech! (not to mention move and get around easier!! ha ha)
I go back in 2 weeks on the 16th for another ultrasound, and hopefully will get some good pics of our little man!!
The official countdown is on! 57 days to go!!
If you want to have some fun- check out this 'game' I set up to see who can guess the date, time and size of Baby Michael
